NestJS 11.2 is out: the HTTP QUERY method and an SSE signal

What's new

  • HTTP QUERY. The QUERY method is supported in the core and the Fastify adapter — safe read requests with a body.
  • SSE. A signal for Server-Sent Events, so a stream can be closed cleanly when the client disconnects.
  • Fastify 5.12 in the adapter dependencies.
  • Fixes: singleton providers shared with lazy modules, Fastify middleware on routes excluded from the global prefix without double prefixing, correct numeric enum validation in ParseEnumPipe.

What to watch out for

This is a minor release of the 11 line with no breaking changes — you can upgrade from any 11.x. The 11 line keeps receiving fixes after NestJS 12 is out.

How to upgrade

  1. Update all @nestjs/* packages to the same version and check the migration guide.
  2. Check the Node.js version on servers and in CI.
  3. Run the API unit and e2e tests before rolling out.

We build and maintain NestJS and Node.js backends: we will upgrade the framework and dependencies, cover it with tests and roll out without downtime.
