Node.js and NestJS backend

Node.js and NestJS are our main server-side stack, and our own API runs on them too. We build REST and GraphQL APIs, background jobs and realtime services in TypeScript with a clear modular architecture.

What's included

  • Documented REST and GraphQL APIs on NestJS
  • Microservices, queues and background jobs
  • Realtime over WebSocket: chats, notifications, dashboards
  • Moving to the current Node.js LTS, upgrading NestJS and dependencies with a full test run

How we work

  1. 01

    Brief and estimate

We look at the task, your current system and constraints, then name the timeline and budget and suggest how to work together.

  2. 02

    Specification

We capture requirements and acceptance criteria in a specification — it is what we build against and how the result is accepted.

  3. 03

    Iterative development

You see the result after every iteration; we test and fix before anything goes into a release.

  4. 04

    Launch and support

We ship with no downtime, monitor the product after launch and stay on for support if you need it.

Cost and timeline

Hourly Rates: from 1 800 ₽ to 3 500 ₽ / hour — depending on specialist qualification.

We give an exact timeline and budget after a brief: we break down the task, fix the scope and suggest a format — a fixed plan or hourly work.

FAQ

When is Node.js the right choice for a backend?

Node.js is a good fit for APIs, integrations and services with many concurrent connections: chats, notifications, realtime dashboards. Using TypeScript on both frontend and backend makes shared types easier and lets one team own the whole product. For heavy computation or machine learning, we move those parts into services on a better-suited stack.

Do you take on existing backends built on Express or plain Node.js?

Yes. We start with an audit of the code, dependencies, security and performance. From there we can maintain the project as it is or gradually move it to NestJS and TypeScript, module by module, without pausing new feature releases.

How is the cost of backend development estimated?

It depends on the number of entities and integrations, and on load, security and infrastructure requirements. We estimate scope and timeline after a short brief. We work hourly or on a fixed monthly plan if you need ongoing development and support.
