Memonic: learn languages with AI

Memonic is an iPhone app that helps you learn words and phrases with the help of AI. Vocabulary is grouped into topic sets such as family, home, food, shopping and technology, each with a progress indicator.

A word card holds the translation, transcription with audio, a full definition and usage examples; learned words are marked with a “Learned” button. A set can be viewed in three modes (full, with translation or words only), sorted, renamed and extended with new cards.

The Ask AI button opens a chat with a language model that explains a word, generates more phrases on the topic and offers to save them as a separate group.

We built the SwiftUI iOS client and the Nest.js and PostgreSQL back-end with LLM integration.
